RECYCLING ASSEMBLY
On Wednesday we learned about how to recycle. Some things you can recycle include: plastic, glass, metal, paper and cardboard. We also learned that grocery bags recycled separately because they get stuck in the gears of the conveyor belts. So the best thing to do is just reuse them, bring them back to the store or even bring them to school to be turned into TREX lumber. When you think about it recycling is kind of creative we can turn milk jugs into playground equipment, glass bottles into windows and mirrors and metal into baseball bats and weights! Even some artists recycle, they make art out of old plastic spoons, flipflops, car tires and even old clothe hangers.
OUR JOBS
In our class we have jobs and there are 17 jobs and here are some of the classes jobs: Line leaders, schedule, paper passer, sub, lunch cards, frog care, book return, ipads, recyclers, chair and stool person, messenger, friday folder assistant, homework board person, supply bin helper and finally number corner assistent.
SECOND STEP PROGRAM
This year we are doing a second step program again as fifth graders we did this last year and we are doing the same thing again to refresh our memory. We are going to do this every month. This month of September we did the Second Step on Empathy. This year we have a different teacher for Second Step, Mrs. Mancini.
FASTBRIDGE TESTING
So this year in 5th grade we are starting Fastbridge testing and our class did it earlier this year. It is new this year to our school.
